Preparation
Cleaning, brightening and, where needed, removal of failing previous finishes.

Drying
Wood has to be dry enough before anything is applied — this step is not optional.

Application
The selected system is applied and the surface kept off-use through cure.
Important Considerations
What a protection system realistically does — and what it does not.
- Previous solid stains or film finishes may need substantial removal before a new system can bond.
- Structural issues — soft boards, failed fasteners, rot — are repairs, not coating problems.
- All exterior wood finishes are maintenance items and will need recoating.
- Colour and sheen on wood vary with species and age; a sample area is the honest way to preview it.
